Open Practice Day

Waltham Chase Trials MCC have an Open Practice day, for Solo and Sidecars at Hut Hill, Chandlers Ford on Saturday 20th April.

There will be a number of sections laid out as well as the opportunity to explore all of Hut Hill. It’s a good opportunity to plan future sections.

Online entry via the Sport80 link: https://acu.sport80.com/public/wizard/e/202946

The venue will be open from 11.00am through to 3.00pm.

Help: Does anyone have an Oset or small engined Petrol Bike they could share with a 13 year old young lady for an hour or so at this session, just to see if it is a sport for her.

If you can help, please contact Sally Garland on 07775 744193.

Club Championship, Round 4 – Sunday 5th May.

The next round of the Club Championship is scheduled to be held at Oakridge Copse in Alderbury. And as s long as the rain holds off it will happen, however if it is too wet, we will move to Hut Hill. We are looking forward to riding at a different venue for a change. The entry is capped at 70 due to parking restrictions. As always offers to observe are appreciated – don’t leave it too late booking if you want to ride.

Entry is via the Sport80 link: https://acu.sport80.com/public/wizard/e/202862

Note: If we change venue your entry will transfer automatically.

The George Greenland Trophy Trial - Sunday 19th May at Manor Farm, Langrish.

The entry is now open for “The George Greenland Trophy Trial”, a round of the ACU Southern Centre Trials Championship via the link: https://acu.sport80.com/public/wizard/e/202934

Offers to observe are appreciated, please email walthamchasetrials@outlook.com if you can assist. £20.00 expenses paid plus a free lunch to all volunteers.

This super venue, with stunning views over the Downs, will be marked out with suitably challenging sections for the Championship Classes, with an unclassified D class included for our more cautious riders. Rember, we are a kind of “Saga” Club.

Deb’s food truck will be serving refreshments throughout the day. Rember to bring chairs so that you can bask in the sunshine whilst taking a break.

We will be looking for offers to help cut out and mark out nearer the date.

Grey Team on stand-by please!

Cadno – The June Camping Weekend

Details will be published within the next couple of weeks for our first trip to Cadnam. Along with up to five days camping there are a couple of Trials to keep you entertained. Camping is restricted to “Club Members”, with both Trials open to all with a current ACU licence.

2023 Trophies

All unclaimed Southern Centre and Waltham Chase 2023 Trophies will be available for collection at Hut Hill on Sunday at The St Paul. They will be available from midday. If you see one on the table for an absent “mate” please take it on their behalf.

After this Trial they will be sold as scrap or go into the “melt.”

The Club’s Future and Clerk of Course Seminars

From the minutes of the Club Committee Meeting held this week our Minutes Secretary recorded.” The committee is mindful that not all are as young or as fit as they used to be so.”

That’s something for all to consider! We need some of our younger members to get involved to keep the Waltham Chase running for the next generation.

For starters, we have COC Seminars planned for new recruits in October or November, if you fancy the challenge talk to any committee member at a trial or give me a call.

Rember, one day someone will say “So, who was Mike Wiseman!”

Over to you?
