The John Wright Trophy Trial – Sunday 21st July.

The John Wright is being held at Limekiln Lane, Ramsdean on Sunday 21st July.

This is a great “once a year,” just like the old day’s natural venue, and is well worth a visit.

As always, offers to observe appreciated, especially from volunteers with a bikes to ride to the distant sections. £20.00 expenses and a free lunch paid to our helpers for this Trial.

The John Wright Trophy is awarded to the best Pre-67 rider, with awards for all other classes, subject to a minimum class entry of four riders.

A donation from the proceeds from this Trial will be made by the Club to Parkinsons UK in memory of John. There may also be a charity collection box at the venue.

The Alan Sansom Trophy Trial - Sunday 28th July

As always offers to observe appreciated with £20.00 and lunch and

Please note: This event is not suitable for small wheeled “E Bikes.”

Grey Team - day out.

To get Ham Lane “match ready” for The Alan Sansom we will hold a “Grey Day” to do some cutting out and section planning. The plan is to have a couple of hours work followed by a couple of hours play for the volunteers. Please confirm if you can help? Wednesday 24th July, 10.00am start.

Why are some Club Trials dates close to each other?

A member’s question.

Agree, it’s not ideal to have back to back trials, but there are over 130 ACU Trials held in the Centre, plus the AMCA events, so free dates can be a challenge.

There are also considerations for venue availability and volunteers. We could run less events, but as long as there are helpers available, we will do our best to provide you with the opportunities to ride.

August Camping Weekend Trials

There are two trials being held at the August Camping weekend; Round 4 of the Summer Series is being held on Saturday 4th August with Round 6 of the Club Championship being held on Sunday 5th August.

11.00am start time for both Trials.

Both events are available to enter on Sport 80 under the “Two Trials Cadnam Weekend” heading. Link: https://acu.sport80.com/public/wizard/e/203661

Make sure you click on SATURDAY or SUNDAY when entering – it will be clear when you start to book your rides – I think!

It’s a Man thing!

Steve Greenen will be the COC and managing the activities at the Charity Trial being held at Hut Hill on Saturday November 9th. The nominated charity this year will be “Prostate Cancer”

The entry, which will open in September, is capped at 80 due to parking restrictions.

Start thinking about this event and see what you can do to support Steve in raising a serious donation for this very worthy cause. Let’s go for a minimum of £1k!

Additional Practice Day – Solo and Sidecar.

Paul and Sally are hosting another Open Practice day at Hut Hill on Saturday 10th August. The entry, and full details will go live next week.

Rider Numbers

I bet you get fed up with me moaning about Rider Numbers – but here we go again.

If you are a Waltham Chase Member, please add your Club Rider Number in the “Event- Specific Information” box on Sport80 and provide a Printed Number Card for your bike.

If you need a card printing, please email Sally and ask for one to be printed. sallygarland@sky.com

If you have “Observed” you will know how frustrating the handwritten numbers can be.

We may take the call to revert to allocated “rider numbers” for each Trial if we can’t get it right! Moan over.
