Offers to observe appreciated, with the usual £20.00 paid.

Please email walthamchasetrials@outlook.com  if you are available.

We appreciate your help.

If you would like to “observe” but need a little support, please get in touch and we can buddy you up with an experienced for a trial – the best way to learn.

Note the later start time of 10.30.

The John Wright (Including Round 4 of The Club Championship) – Sunday 20th April.

We are holding the John Wright at Limekiln Lane, Ramsdean on Sunday 20th April. A super venue we only visit once a year, with all natural sections and a long ride to clear away the cobwebs.

This Trial is open to all, with points allocated to Waltham Chase Members, with awards allocated depending on class entries.

The main award, The John Wright Trophy, is presented to the best Pre-67 rider.

The entry is now open via: https://acu.sport80.com/public/wizard/e/204901

The Alan Sansom Trophy – Sunday 4th May.

How can we be talking about May – The Christmas dec’s are not back in the loft yet.

There is considerable work taking pace at Ham Lane and you may well find some new sections that were not seen last year – but more about that nearer the time.

This is an “Open” trial, with all holders of ACU Trials Registration very welcome, however the venue is not suitable for youth beginners.

But our younger riders are not being forgotten – watch this space for additional activity.

Members Questions

I share the questions we are asked as they may be of interest.

Why do I have to belong to Waltham Chase MCC to earn Championship points.”

The simple answer is that it is a “Club Championship,” but it is really to prevent visitors who may ride in just one Trial taking points away from a local member who rides every round.

We have similar questions regarding the Southern Centre Trials Championship – The answer is much the same and is especially relevant for Trials such as the IOW Two Day, which attracts a large number of “Out of Centre” riders who could steal the points from our serious in Centre contenders.

Advance Notice – Carry-on Camping

Waltham Chase will hold two, up to five-day camping breaks at Cadnam, which is within the National Park. They are run under Natural England restrictions, so if we seem a tad “regulatory” it is for a good reason. We cannot get things wrong and need to respect the environment and our landowner.

Having said that, we have been returning to Cadnam for over 10 years, without incident, and have had some great themed weekends “The Bake Off”, “I’m a Trials Rider- Get Me out of Here”, “The Olympics” and something to do with a “Jubilee”.

Our first break this year is around the weekend of 31st May & 1st June – this is a relaxed, do your own thing break, with no organised activities, but with a Trial on Saturday and Sunday.

The second break includes the weekend of the 16th and 17th August.

Along with a Saturday and Sunday Trial there will be “Family Activities” on the Saturday afternoon, a” Hidden Hog Roast” on the Saturday evening, with live entertainment in “The Barn.”

Camping will be available for Caravans, Motorhomes, Campervans, and tents for up to five days – Wednesday through to Sunday and will be bookable via the Sport80 platform.

Not a bad little break with the family and bike?

If you have an idea for this year’s theme, catch up with any of the Committee and share your thoughts.

Club Clothing

We are trialling a new “merchandise provider,” based in Chandlers Ford and we have now our club logo set up on their system.

I am off to see them today to pick up a couple of club shirts, which will become raffle prizes on Saturday at the Awards Presentation.

Full details will be circulated when samples are evaluated.

The supplier also provides a service where you can take in your own garment and have the Waltham Chase Club Loco added – again more details after we know it all works.
